General description
Application
- Quantitative analysis in neonatal screening: Ethyl-β-D-Glucuronide is quantified in human umbilical cord tissue using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry, offering insights into neonatal exposure to ethanol and potential forensic applications in confirming prenatal alcohol exposure (Wabuyele and McMillin, 2019).

Review of clinically relevant ethanol metabolites and analytical method development for the analysis of ethyl glucuronide and ethyl sulfate in urine matrix.
This study is aimed at developing and validating an LC-ESI-ion trap-MS/MS method for identification and quantification of ethyl glucuronide (EtG) and ethyl sulfate (EtS) as ethanol biomarkers for urine analysis.
The method shown uses HILIC mode on an Ascentis® Express OH5 column to retain both analytes well, making it very likely to be more robust and reliable, as well as highly MS-friendly.
Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
