General description

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), sold under the brand name Plaquenil among others, is a medication used to prevent and treat malaria in areas where malaria remains sensitive to chloroquine. Hydroxychloroquine is also being studied as a treatment for coronavirus disease.
