General description

a-Linolenic acid, also known as ALA, is an omega-3 fatty acid essential for human health and well-being. Measurement of ALA levels in serum is useful for evaluating essential fatty acid deficiency (EFAD), malabsorption and ALA treatment response in patients with EFAD. This certified solution standard is suitable for use as starting material in calibrators and controls for GC/MS fatty acid testing methods in clinical and diagnostic testing of ALA in patient samples.

Application

Alpha-linolenic acid is used as a nutritional supplement in both human and animal nutrition. (Baba et al., 2024).
