Routinely evaluated by Biological Activity Assay. Cultures of fetal bovine heart endothelial (FBHE) cells grown for five days in RD medium containing FBS, heparin, and FGF-2 showed more cells than cultures of FBHE cells grown in same medium without FGF-2.
