General description

The SMC® Human IFN-b1 High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit contains all reagents required to perform the assay. This assay takes advantage of a standard immunoassay workflow configured in a standard plate format.
Assay protocols are similar to existing sandwich ELISA methods with two key differences:
1) Elution buffer disrupts the sandwich, separating the labeled detection antibody for quantification.
2) The Erenna and SMCxPRO® immunoassay systems detect analytes using Single Molecule Counting (SMC®) technology.

Specificity

Species Reactivity
Although IL-10 was detectable in non-human primate, mouse, rat, canine, and feline plasma, the assay has not been validated for these species.

Accuracy:
  • Minimum of 5 serum samples spiked with average recovery of 87% with a range of 84-93%
  • Minimum of 5 plasma samples spiked with average recovery of 90% with a range of 82-97%

Application

The sensitivity of the Single Molecule Counting (SMC®) technology gives the SMC® Human IL-10 High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit unparalleled performance in the quantification of IL-10 in human serum and plasma.

This new streamline kit has been improved with the following features including new including new improvements over the legacy IL-10 kit, #03-0056-00:
  • Improved LLOQ--0.10 pg/mL in the new streamlined kit while the legacy kit is 0.39 pg/mL
  • Adjusted standard curve--changed to 0.1 – 100 pg/mL from 0.17 – 400 pg/mL
  • Improved options for sample prep and incubation
  • Lyophilization of the standard provides the kit at one storage condition
  • Removal of a plate transfer step
  • Increased reagent volumes to accommodate automation
  • Validated to run on both SMCxPRO® and Erenna
