General description
The SMC® Human IFN-α2 High Sensitivity Immunoassay Kit contains all reagents required to perform the assay. This assay takes advantage of a standard immunoassay workflow configured in a standard plate format.
Assay protocols are similar to existing sandwich ELISA methods with two key differences:
1) Elution buffer disrupts the sandwich, separating the labeled detection antibody for quantification.
2) The Erenna and SMCxPRO® immunoassay systems detect analytes using Single Molecule Counting (SMC®) technology.
Specificity
This assay was tested for cross reactivity with rhIFN-β, rhIFN-γ, rhIFN-λ1 (IL-29), rhIFN-λ2 (IL28A), rhIFN-λ3 (IL-28B), rhIFN-ω, IFN-α2a, IFN-α2b and IFN-α.
- There is no cross-reactivity detected with rhIFN-ß, rhIFN-γ, rhIFN-λ1 (IL-29), rhIFN-λ2 (IL-28A),rhIFN-λ3 (IL-28B), and rhIFN-ω.
- There is 100% cross-reactivity with IFN-α2a.
- There is 49% cross-reactivity with IFN-α2b.
- There is 3% cross-reactivity with IFN-α.
Accuracy:
- Minimum of 5 serum samples spiked with average recovery of 102% with a range of 92-111%
- Minimum of 5 plasma samples spiked with average recovery of 96% with a range of 89-107%
