General description

Rho-Associated Kinase (Rho-Kinase or ROK) has been classified into two isoforms: ROKα/ROCK-II and ROKβ/ROCK-I. These large cellular proteins (150-160 kDa), have been reported to be involved in the formation of stress fibers, focal adhesions and cardiac hypertonic responses. Current research suggests that ROK of smooth muscle may be involved in the contractile process via phosphorylation of MYPT1 and Myosin.

Specificity

Predicted to cross-react with mouse and bovine based on sequence homology.
Recognizes ROKα/ROCK-II, Mr 150 kDa. Does not recognize ROKβ/ROCK-I. A non-specific band may also be detected, Mr 80 kDa.

Immunogen

6His-tagged fusion protein corresponding to residues 2-543 of rat ROKα/ROCK-II.

Application

Detect ROKα/ROCK-II using this Anti-ROKα/ROCK-II Antibody, clone A9W4 validated for use in IP & WB.
Immunoprecipitation:
4 μL of a previous lot immunoprecipitated ROKα/ROCK-II from 500 μg of PC-12 lysate.
