General description

HAYFLICK Broth supplemented with horse serum provides useable cholesterol and fatty acids. Deoxyribonucleic acid provides purine and pyrimidine bases, which cannot be synthesized by mycoplasmas. A color change of the medium to yellow or purple indicates the growth of mycoplasmas due to the presence of phenol red. Penicillin inhibits the growth of accompanying bacterial flora.

Application

HAYFLICK Broth is used for the general detection of mycoplasmas in pharmaceutical products, especially in bulk vaccines, cell banks, and virus cultures.

Features and Benefits

  • Ready-to-use convenience as no further preparation steps are required.
  • Pharmaceutical products such as Biopharmaceuticals, Vaccines, Cell cultures, and Virus cultures.
