General description

A heat stable bacterial superantigen that activates the immune system to produce a burst of anti-inflammatory cytokines. Potent activator of the immune system. Acts as a super antigen in the stimulation of T cells and provides a non-proliferative signal for primary B cells to produce polyclonal IgG. Prepared from Staphylococcus aureus, strain S6 by dye ligand chromatography.
