General description

A cell-permeable and irreversible inhibitor of caspase-1 (Ki = 760 pM), caspase-4, and caspase-5. Inhibits Fas-mediated apoptosis and acidic sphingomyelinase activation.
Interleukin-1β converting enzyme (ICE) is a cysteine protease that cleaves the IL-1β precursor to mature IL-1β. Caspase-1 inhibitor II is a cell-permeable, irreversible inhibitor of Caspase-1, Caspase-4, and Caspase-5. Inhibits CPP32/Apopain at a much higher concentration. Inhibits Fas-mediated apoptosis and acidic sphingomyelinase activation.
