General description

A pentyl-quinoline derived compound that acts as a pure, potent agonist of Toll-like receptor 8 agonist (TLR8, EC50 = 200 nM in a human TLR8-specifc reporter gene assay). Does not affect TLR2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, Nod1 and Nod2, and is devoid of any TLR7 activity. Shown to induce activities of several cytokines and chemokines, including IL-1a, IL-1b, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, IL12, IL-18, IFN-g, CCL20, RANTES, GRO, GM-CSF, and Eotaxin (~ 10 mg/ml).
