Gene Information

General description

Fc receptor-like protein 5 (UniProt: Q96RD9; also known as FcR-like protein 5, FcRL5, BXMAS1, Fc receptor homolog 5, FcRH5, Immune receptor translocation-associated protein 2, IRTA2, CD307e) is encoded by the FCRL5 (also known as FCRH5, IRTA2, UNQ503/PRO820) gene (Gene ID: 83416) in human. FcRH5 is a single-pass type I membrane protein that is expressed in marginal zone B-cells, immunoblasts, tonsillar germinal center centrocytes and in the intraepithelial and interfollicular regions of the tonsil. It is involved in B-cell development and differentiation in peripheral lymphoid organs and may be useful markers of B-cell stages. It is shown to regulate BCR signaling and binds aggregated IgG and engages several of its Ig-domains to bind IgG. It is shown to be overexpressed in many lymphoma cell lines and on hairy cell leukemia cells. Serum levels of soluble FcRH5 are reported to be elevated in patients with several types of B cell tumors. FcRH5 is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-15), which is cleaved off in the mature form that has a long extracellular domain (aa 16-851), a short transmembrane domain (aa 852-872), and a cytoplasmic tail (aa 873-977) that contains immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitor motifs (ITIM). Specificity

Clone F25 detects human Fc receptor-like protein 5. It targets an epitope with in the extracellular domain.

Immunogen

Epitope: extracellular domain
Full-length FcRH5 expression plasmid followed by a boost with 293T cells transfected with FcRH5 plasmid.

Application

Anti-FcRH5, clone F25, Cat. No. MABF2103, is a mouse monoclonal antibody that detects Fc receptor-like protein 5 and has been tested for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and Western Blotting.
