Gene Information

human ... QKI(9444)

General description

QKI is also called Protein Quaking or HqkI. QKI is an RNA-binding protein that plays a central role in myelinization. QKI acts by regulating pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA export, mRNA stability and protein translation, and is itself, regulated by alternative splicing. QKI is expressed in the frontal cortex of brain, but is shown to be down-regulated in the brain of schizophrenic patients.

Specificity

This antibody demonstrates cross reactivity against QKI-6, QKI-7, and QKI-7b (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).

Immunogen

Recombinant protein corresponding to human Pan-QKI.

Application

Anti-Pan-QKI Antibody, clone N147/6 is a highly specific mouse monoclonal antibody & that targets QKI & has been tested in western blotting.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected Pan-QKI in human frontal cortex.

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected Pan-QKI in rat hippocampus tissue (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of California, Davis.).

Western Blotting Analysis: 2 µg/mL from a representative lot detected Pan-QKI in 10 µg of rat brain tissue.

Western Blotting Analysis: 2 µg/mL from a representative lot detected Pan-QKI in 10 µg of mouse brain membrane tissue.

Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected Pan-QKI in RBM cell lysates and in COS cell lysates transfected with QKI-5, QKI-6, QKI-7, and QKI-7b (Prof. J. Trimmer, University of Califorina, Davis.).
