Application

  • Antioxidant and nanoremediation applications: The study highlighted the use of 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol or BHT in the synthesis of biogenic silver nanoparticles with antioxidant properties, emphasizing its role in environmental remediation and protection against oxidative stress (Silva et al., 2024).
  • Antioxidant peptides from silk protein: This research demonstrated the antioxidant properties of peptides derived from Bombyx mori, with 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol possibly serving as a comparative standard in evaluating antioxidant activity, showcasing its importance in food and biochemical research (Chukiatsiri et al., 2024).
  • Biotechnological production of vitamins: Its role could extend to serving as a standard in optimizing metabolic pathways for the production of other important compounds, like retinol in biotechnology applications, highlighting its utility in industrial microbiology (Ren et al., 2024).

Telomeres are essential for genome stability. Oxidative stress caused by excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) accelerates telomere shortening. Although telomeres are hypersensitive to ROS-mediated 8-oxoguanine (8-oxoG) formation, the biological effect of this common lesion at telomeres is poorly understood because
