General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. This product is a biodegradable surfactant and is aligned with the 10th principle of Green Chemistry "Design for Degradation".

Tergitol 15-S-7 is a linear non-ionic surfactant that is a secondary ethoxylated alcohol. It is compatible with anionic, cationic, and other nonionic surfactants.

Application

Tergitol 15-S-7 has been used:
  • To study the synergistic effect of Tergitol 15-S-7 and AOT (dioctyl sulfosuccinate) on bacterial oxidation of alkanes in crude oils
  • In cloud-point extraction technique to extract polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons from aqueous solutions
  • Along with MgSO4 in anolyte reservoir for electrokinetic experiments
  • As a very efficient surfactant in removing non-polar oil
  • To study the phase behavior of surfactant-brine–oil system, which is desired for enhanced oil recovery

Features and Benefits

  • Excellent formulation & handling properties
  • Superior wetting & rinseability
  • Low odor
  • Narrow gel range
