General description

α-1 acid glycoprotein is a protein at 43kDa secreted mainly from the liver during acute phase reaction. Its expression is induced by cytokines and corticosteroids.
Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (AGP) is also known as orosomucoid (ORM). It is a 41-43 kDa glycoprotein. It is one of the important acute phase proteins found in humans, rats, mice and other species. This immunosuppressive glycoprotein is composed of two isoforms, such as ORM1 and ORM2.
Goat Anti-α1-Acid Glycoprotein antibody is immunospecific for human α1-acid glycoprotein by immunoelectrophoresis versus human serum and α1-acid glycoprotein.

Immunogen

purified human α1-acid glycoprotein

Application

Goat Anti-α1-Acid Glycoprotein antibody can be used for quantitative precipitin assays at 1.5mg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Abberations of orosomucoid 1 (ORM1) is linked with the pharmacokinetics of telmisartan. This plasma protein participates in the binding and transport of several drugs.

Physical form

Supplied as a liquid containing 15mM sodium azide as preservative.
