Cell Line Description
Derived from the trachea of a male bovine foetus. The cell line can be used for isolation, replication and quantitation of BVDV, IBRV and parainfluenza type 3 virus. Growth and morphological characteristics decline beyond passage number 55.
Application
Virus studies: BVDV, IBRV and parainfluenza type 3 virus.
Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 i.e. seeding at 4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
