General description

Gelatin hydrolysate is extracted from pigs, bovines, and fish by the hydrolysis of gelatin.

Application

Gelatin hydrolysate Enzymatic has been used :
  • in immunoassay
  • as an excipient in vaccine formulation to screen its ability to stabilize influenza vaccine
  • for the synthesis of gelatin hydrolysate vinyl esters

Biochem/physiol Actions

Gelatin hydrolysate possesses antioxidant, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitory, antifreeze, and antiphotoaging activities. It is widely used in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Gelatin hydrolysate is used as a smart drug delivery carrier for cancer therapy and in wound dressing. It boosts skin recovery by supporting wound closure and diminishing skin wrinkles. When orally consumed, gelatin hydrolysates increase bone mass and inhibit osteopenia.
