General description

Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) is an enzyme wth a molecular weight of 560 kDa.

Immunogen

Immunogen Sequence: GI # 3403236, sequence 1-491
Rubisco (plant).

Application

Anti-Rubisco (plant) antibody produced in chicken has been used to detect Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) by immunoblotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) is involved in catalyzing the addition of CO2 to ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP). It is involved in the first step of photosynthesis, that results in the net gain of atmospheric CO2 to the biosphere. Rubisco possesses oxygenase activity. Mutation of rubisco influences photorespiration and plant growth.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Nutrient signalling integrates and coordinates gene expression, metabolism and growth. However, its primary molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood in plants and animals. Here we report unique Ca2+ signalling triggered by nitrate with live imaging of an ultrasensitive biosensor in Arabidopsis
