Gene Information

rabbit ... CBX3(11335)

Immunogen

The epitope recognized by PLA0160 maps to a region between residue 133 and the C-terminus (residue 183) of human chromobox homolog 3 using the numbering given in entry NP_009207.2 (GeneID 11335).

Physical form

Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide

Other Notes

CBX3 (chromobox protein homolog 3), also known as HP1gamma (heterochromatin protein 1 homolog gamma), is one of 3 isoforms of HP1 that binds heterochromatin and functions as a structural adaptor to stabilize and organize macromolecular complexes with nucleosomes for higher chromatin structure. All of the HP1 isoforms possess a chromodomain and chromoshadow domain and associate with methylated histones that mediate transcriptional repression.
