Gene Information

human ... SERPINA3(12)

General description

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein′s sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer′s disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (provided by RefSeq)

Immunogen

SERPINA3 (AAH03559, 25 a.a. ~ 423 a.a) full-length recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Serpins represent the most broadly distributed superfamily of proteases inhibitors. They contribute to a variety of physiological functions and any alteration of the serpin-protease equilibrium can lead to severe consequences. SERPINA3 dysregulation has been associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and
