Gene Information

human ... CDC2(983)

General description

CDC2/CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is located on human chromosome 10q21.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around aa. 13-17 (G-T-Y-G-V), according to the protein CDC2.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CDC2/CDK1 (cyclin-dependent kinase 1) controls various mitotic processes like reorganization of the cytoskeleton, segregation of chromosome, formation and separation of daughter cells. It is essential for the multiplication of mammalian cell. It participates in tumorigenesis.

Features and Benefits

Target description

Plays a key role in the control of the eukaryotic cell cycle. It is required in higher cells for entry into S-phase and mitosis. p34 is a component of the kinase complex that phosphorylates the repetitive C-terminus of RNA polymerase II.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate-buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol
