General description

Anti-GATA3 antibody detects endogenous levels of total GATA3 protein.
GATA-3 (GATA binding protein 3) is a T-cell transcription factor. It is highly expressed in fetal and adult thymus. It is located on human chromosome 10p14.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GATA3.

Immunogen Range: 274-323

Biochem/physiol Actions

GATA-3 (GATA binding protein 3) plays an important role in the growth of T-cell neoplasms and early growth of T-cells. It acts as a specific marker in breast and urothelial carcinomas. GATA3 also acts as an immunophenotypic marker of acute leukemias.

The current available data on GATA-binding protein 3 (GATA3) expression in sarcomatoid urothelial carcinoma are limited, especially in the non-tissue microarray-based setting. In this study, we analyzed the expression of GATA3 in sarcomatoid urothelial carcinoma of the bladder in cystectomy/cystoprostatectomy
