General description

Cortactin is an actin-related protein 2/3 (Arp2/3) complex–activating and filamentous (F)-actin–binding protein. This protein is coded by CTTN gene that maps to human chromosome 11q13.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Cortactin around the phosphorylation site of Tyr421.

Immunogen Range: 388-437

Application

Anti-phospho-Cortactin (pTyr421) antibody has been used in western blotting and immunoprecipitation.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cortactin controls Arp2/3-mediated actin polymerization. This protein also modulates aggressive cancer cell traits like tumor growth, cancer cell invasion and motility, and serum- and anchorage-independent growth.
