General description

Discoidin domain receptor I (DDR1) is a receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK)/collagen-activated tyrosine kinase, that is located on human chromosome 6p21.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human DDR1 around the phosphorylation site of Tyr513.

Immunogen Range: 479-528

Biochem/physiol Actions

Discoidin domain receptor I (DDR1) plays important roles in several cancers. In renal cancer cells, DDR1 promotes epithelial to mesenchymal transition. It also increases invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer through epithelial-mesenchymal transition.

Collagen type 1 (COL1) is a ubiquitously existing extracellular matrix protein whose high density in breast tissue favors metastasis and chemoresistance. COL1-binding of MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 breast cancer cells is mainly dependent on β1-integrins (ITGB1). Here, we elucidate the signaling

DDR1 is a collagen adhesion-mechanoreceptor expressed in fibrotic lesions. DDR1 mediates non-muscle myosin IIA (NMIIA)-dependent collagen remodeling. We discovered that the myosin phosphatase Rho-interacting protein (MRIP), is enriched in DDR1-NMIIA adhesions on collagen. MRIP regulates RhoA- and myosin phosphatase-dependent myosin
