Gene Information

human ... TCF4(6925)

General description

Transcription factor 4 (TCF4), also known as E2-2, is a helix-loop-helix transcription factor. It is part of the E protein family and is expressed in the cornea during development. The gene encoding TCF4 is localized on human chromosome 18q21.

Immunogen

TCF4 (AAH31056.1, 1 a.a. ~ 365 a.a) full-length recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Transcription factor 4 (TCF4) acts a regulator of cellular growth and differentiation. It has a role in the development of central nervous system. Defects in TCF4 gene are associated with Pitt-Hopkins syndrome. The protein has also been linked to susceptibility to schizophrenia.

Physical form

Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4
