Polymyxin B sulfate is a sulfate salt of polymyxin kind, produced by the growth of Bacillus polymyxa (Prazmowski) Migula (Family Bacillaceae) or by mixing different salts.

Application

Polymyxin B sulfate USP Reference standard suitable for use in specified USP compendial tests and assays. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Bacitracin and Polymyxin B Sulfate Topical Aerosol®
  • Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride and Polymyxin B Sulfate Ointment
  • Polymyxin B Sulfate and Trimethoprim Ophthalmic Solution
  • Bacitracin Zinc and Polymyxin B Sulfate Ointment
  • Polymyxin B Sulfate and Hydrocortisone Otic Solution
  • Chloramphenicol and Polymyxin B Sulfate Ophthalmic Ointment
  • Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride and Polymyxin B Sulfate Ophthalmic Ointment
