General description

Hydrocortisone has the potential to induce the formation of blood-brain barrier properties in serum-free culture media. It is recommended for use in epithelial and endothelial adherent cell culture applications.

Application

Hydrocortisone-Water Soluble has been used as a supplement in Dulbecco′s modified Eagle′s medium (DMEM)/high glucose medium to culture mammary alveolar (MAC-T) cells. It has also been used to study its effect on cation absorption by semicircular canal duct epithelium via epithelial sodium channel.

Lysophosphatidic acid (LPA), a simple phospholipid-derived mediator with diverse biological actions, acts through the specific G protein-coupled receptors endothelial differentiation gene (EDG) 2, EDG4, EDG7, and GPR23. Recent studies indicate a critical role for LPA receptor signaling in embryo implantation.
