General description

Isoacteoside, also known as Isoverbascoside, is a phenylethanoid glycoside, a bioactive natural compound commonly derived from plants such as Pedicularis striata, Plantago australis, Paulownia coreana, Caryopteris incana, Acacia lasiopetala, Maytenus laevis, and Spergula japonica. Current research indicates that this plant metabolite is an inhibitor and may possess diverse biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and neuroprotective properties.

Application

Isoacteoside is a natural product derived from plant source that finds application in compound screening libraries, metabolomics, phytochemical, and pharmaceutical research.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Isoacteoside exhibits significant inhibition of advanced glycation and product formation with IC50 values of 4.6-25.7 μM. It exerts anti-inflammatory, antidiaberic, antiviral (COVID-19) activity and cytoprotective action.

Features and Benefits

  • Suitable for Biochemical and Biomedical research

Diabetes and hypertension are pathophysiologically related diseases that co-exist with a wider complex of metabolic diseases having similar set of risk factors. There are numerous ethnopharmacological evidences on the anti-diabetic and/or anti-hypertensive properties of medicinal plants from various parts of
