Gene Information
human ... FABP1(2168)
General description
FABP1 (fatty acid-binding protein 1) belongs to the FABP family and localizes in the cytoplasm. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 2p12-q11.
Recombinant human FABP-1 was expressed from Escherichia coli and purified through proprietary method.
Recombinant human FABP-1 was expressed from Escherichia coli and purified through proprietary method.
Application
FABP1 human has been used in the FABP1 ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay).
Biochem/physiol Actions
FABP1 (fatty acid-binding protein 1) mainly interacts with hydrophobic lipid ligands and is involved in intracellular fatty acid transport and utilization. FABP1 interacts with the plasma membrane to help in cholesterol transfer and also allows membrane microdomain changes. It controls lipid metabolism in the liver. Mutations in the gene are associated with the risk of type 2 diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and homeostasis assessment index (HOMA-IR). The FABP1 gene is upregulated in liver, lung, gastric and colon cancers.
Physical form
Sterile filtered and Lyophilized without additives.
Reconstitution
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers
